No-Fee Apartment of the Week: $3,895 two-bedroom in Hunters Point

This no-fee $3,895 two-bedroom at 4720 Center Boulevard in Hunter's Point/Long Island City, Queens, is in one of several modern buildings that have sprouted up in the neighborhood in the past few years.

The building is part of a 22-acre development called EastCoast, which was built on the site of the former Pepsi-Cola bottling plant.

We couldn't find a photo of the unit itself--just the floorplan--but at over 1,100-square-feet, the apartment appears to be generously sized.

Pros: The building is all about the views--of the East River, the Manhattan Skyline and Gantry Plaza State Park. A garden, roof deck and terrace let you soak it all up. According to the listing, the apartment itself has top-of-the-line finishes and floor-to-ceiling windows. The neighborhood has really blossomed in recent years--with lots of shops, cafes and musems -- including MOMA's PS1.

Cons: The rent is a bit high for the neighborhood (where, according to StreetEasy, the median two-bedroom is $2,400), but considering that it's in a full-service modern building, that extra rent could be worth it. Some people might shy away from living in a large residential complex.
